Chart show presenter Fearne Cotton is horrified to learn she is an anorexic role model.
In her latest venture into The Truth About Online Annorexia on ITV 1 tonight at 9pm, Fearne is shocked to discover that she is ‘thinspiration’ for anorexic girls to lose weight.
The TV show involved Fearne researching pro-ana websites, where a community of girls with the eating disorder participate in giving each other advice on weight loss. As she explored the website Fearne came across images of skinny celebs, including her, posted as inspiration for anorexia.
Miss Cotton reacted in disbelief saying, "What the hell's my name doing there? That's the worst thing I've ever seen! A picture of me when I was about 20 years old and a bit thinner than I am now."To think girls would use that is horrific. I wish I could take myself off this website. I don't want to be associated with anything like this."
"Anything this website says I do not believe. Girls should not try and look like anyone. Girls, you should be your- self, know who you are and love yourself - that's the message I want to put out there."
