Dreaming Of Drapes

Oscar De La Renta, silk satin draped blouse, £1145, would look great teamed with a belt, skinnies and platform heels and gold tone jewellery to compliment the exposed zips.
Also ideal for the Autumn /Winter 2009/10 drape trend.

I love this fresh new look for the summer from urban decay with the golden glow and aqua marine blue making the perfect poolside palette.

Pricey And The Detonator

Katie Price is reportedly dating cage fighter Alex Reid ‘The Detonator’.
The two were spotted at Liverpool’s Malmaison Hotel where they allegedly spent the night together in Katie’s £450 per night suite.
Poor Pete, I thought they would get back together or it would just be a publicity stunt. : (
Mr Reid and Ms Price both deny being romantically involved, so there is still hope yet... isn't there?!

Lily For Lagerfeld

Lily Allen is the new face of Chanel coco cocoon handbags.
Miss Allen was chosen by Lagerfeld because ‘she’s fun’, although I’m not sure Elton John would share the same opinion.
A couple of famous faces who have represented the label are Kiera Knightly and Nicole Kidman but unlike Lily they are credited with more ladylike decorum.
Here are some of the AD campaign photos with Lily styled as a princess to be launched October 2009; I’ll let you judge them for yourselves.

Statement necklaces are the key accessory for next season (A/W09).
Stars like Olivia Palermo (The City) have already followed suit with a statement oversized necklace. So think big and chunky!

Clowning Around

I stumbled over this collection from the Paris Fashion Week earlier in the year and had to remind you all what we have to look forward to in the Autumn/Winter months.
A five year old applying lippy is what springs to mind so have to admit that I will not be conforming Alexander McQueen’s ready-to-wear A/W 09/10 beauty regime. I feel I may get taunted for my inability to keep within the realms of my lip liner.
What do you think of this Marilyn Mason style make up, maybe I’m being too critical?
The hounds tooth pattern also made a major come back in the collection which does not leave me jumping for joy, but anyway dig out your vintage items. (I think I have some hounds tooth patterned shoes stashed away.)

Boating Babes

AnnaLynne McCord, Shenae Grimes and Jessica Stroup were spotted filming their CW show 90210 at Marina Del Ray.
They were fashionably decked out for the summer season of drama with wide brimmed hats. Annalynne wore a purple figure hugging mini, Jessica settled for short shorts with a waistcoat and plain blue tee while Shenae took a classy stance wearing a striped nautical top and immaculate white skirt.
All the holiday basics packed into one shot. I prefer the waist coat look, it’s so simple, there are some amazing waistcoats at ASOS, which can be dressed up or down for the day or evening.
What are your holiday must haves this year? Anyone going / been on holiday yet?
90210 will be back to the CW on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 8/7 CT .

Fairytale Fantasy

It's all florals and frolics at Dolce & Gabbana this S/S 2009 with clean, pure white tones dripping in romantic flowers.

Stick and stone may break my bones...

Chart show presenter Fearne Cotton is horrified to learn she is an anorexic role model.

In her latest venture into The Truth About Online Annorexia on ITV 1 tonight at 9pm, Fearne is shocked to discover that she is ‘thinspiration’ for anorexic girls to lose weight.
The TV show involved Fearne researching pro-ana websites, where a community of girls with the eating disorder participate in giving each other advice on weight loss. As she explored the website Fearne came across images of skinny celebs, including her, posted as inspiration for anorexia.

Miss Cotton reacted in disbelief saying, "What the hell's my name doing there? That's the worst thing I've ever seen! A picture of me when I was about 20 years old and a bit thinner than I am now."To think girls would use that is horrific. I wish I could take myself off this website. I don't want to be associated with anything like this."

"Anything this website says I do not believe. Girls should not try and look like anyone. Girls, you should be your- self, know who you are and love yourself - that's the message I want to put out there."

Animal Instincts

New designer, 26 year old Emma Bell talks to gownabouttown on her flourishing career and A/W 09 collection "I'm saving the dogs..."
Her latest collection is inspired by a trip to South East Asia. "Emma’s AW09 collection sees a plethora of inspirations deriving from the Medieval realms of Camelot, the romantic tragedy of Ophelia, the utilitarian value of Chinese communist military wear, and the brutal realisation of cruelty to dogs in East Asian cultures.
Block printing and bold knitwear pattern formation influenced by traditional batik techniques as well as woollen embroidery embellishment, hand painted fabrics of illustrated, urinating canines, freehand quilting and pixelated intarsia can be seen in the collection. Using a colour palette of bright neon pastels and her signature metallic’s. Constructions of Perspex shapes, printed jerseys and quilted PVC’s."

Where did you study?
University of Westminster

From what age were you interested in fashion?
I would spend hours as a child dressing up, making my own jewellery, customising clothes....and it all developed from there! This affirmed that fashion was an industry that I wanted to get involved in so went on to studying design before eventually setting up my own brand!

What inspires you?
Everyday life...I collect EVERYTHING....weird bus tickets...postcards....newspaper clippings.....and collate them into journals and sketchbooks.....
Designers that I admire are: Marc Jacobs, Luella, Giles, Heatherette, Viktor and Rolf....

What are your aspirations?
I like to get involved in as many different aspects of the industry as possible as its great to work with other brands and work on projects which challenge your own design aesthetic...I have worked with footwear brand Irregular Choice, GM/VAUXHALL Motors and Jodie Harsh amongst others....I would definitely like to become more involved with Creative Direction as well as further affirm my own brand identity. To have a selection of well respected stockists internationally would be incredible too!

How would you like to leave your stamp on fashion?
I would like to maintain that fashion doesn’t always have to be about following trends...I like the idea that there can be seasonal development without sticking to the rules and that humour can always be injected into fashion!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Hopefully still doing what I'm doing as well as broadening my horizons with collaborative projects!

What is your uniform and distinguishing feature?
My northern accent, dollar sign necklace and ever changing hair colour?!

What is your favourite word or over used phrase?

Oohh I have too many favourite words...they include: GOURMET, TREAT AND YES PLEASSSSE!

X-rated

Belted celeb makes a big statement on the red carpet.

Wild glamour girl Jodie Marsh gets her baps out at the FHM awards in Hollywood in 2004, wearing next to nothing.
She now returns to our screens for a minimalist to modest makeover on Jenny Frost’s show - Snog, Marry Avoid?
The TV series documents the make-under of an army of slap happy, skimpily styled girls, in a bid to ban fakery, Jodie look likes and indecent dressing. She was transformed by POD (Personal Overhaul Device) from an exhibitionist to marriage material.

It's ASDA Price

Shoppers get more than they bargained for at ASDA.

Customers at a Lakeside supermarket got an eye full, as topless model Jordan (Kate Price) unveiled her new lingerie collection for George. However the intimate undies left little left to the imagination with a thong that barely covered her crotch, let alone her embarrassment.

Don't get the London look

Style icon Kate Moss suffers a wardrobe blip at billionaire’s party.

The stunning supermodel with her own collection at Topshop was papped arriving at Sir Philip Green’s 57th birthday party at Annabel’s club in Mayfair, London. But as she got out of the car her jacket opened to reveal more than her low cut top. I don’t imagine fans will be queuing up to get this YSL look.

Oops she did it again!

Pop princess inappropriately announces costume malfunction at latest concert.

Britney Spears’ Tampa, Florida concert ended in disaster as she experienced yet another wardrobe glitch. Not realising that the mic was still on the singer broadcast the situation of her ripped leotard (in the crotch area) for all fans to hear, declaring off stage, ‘my p**sy is hanging out!’

Breast in show

Former Baywatch babe reveals all at Paris catwalk

Pamela Anderson recently exposed her chest on the runway of Vivienne Westwood’s autumn winter 2009/2010 show. The ready-to-wear collection was a protest against the world inability to halt global warming, but Pamela stole the spot light with her slip up, as fashionista’s congratulated the designer. She modelled an off the shoulder low cut dress, tiny tutu and tight t-shirts, parading her best assets.

Maximum Exposure

Lady GaGa has been cautioned by police for indecent exposure.

The ‘Poker Face’ singer was stopped on the streets by Chicago cops for her minuscule hot pants.

The scantily clad star says, “I guess they weren’t really pants at all...but it was really funny because all you saw was this half-naked girl on the street yelling at some cop, 'It's fashion! I'm an artist!' It was fun. It's not that I don't like pants. I just choose not to wear them some days. I think no pants is sexy. I love the naked human body.”

This isn’t the only time she has had a run-in with the law either, as in 2007 she was again given a citation from police for wearing short shorts at Lollapalooza music festival and shes not the only celeb who dares to bear all.
